    Project scope

    Development and production of the cover assembly of the SOMATOM Definition Flash computer tomograph unit

    Highlight of the project

    High-glossy surface with depth effect

    Together with its partner network, Hombach developed a new material combination of a transparent material with a thinner 2-colour paint layer (co-extrusion), whilst complying with UL94 V-0.


    Range of services

    All cover parts are realised using the Twin-Sheet procedure, with component sizes of up to 2800 mm x 2000 mm. These are in part coated with high gloss double clear-coat systems. Textured paint is also used.

    The installed mechanical and electrical components (such as displays, control panels, microphones, loudspeakers, lasers and amplifiers) are independently procured, assembled and cabled by Hombach.

    Delivery is made to consignment stores, which are controlled independently by Hombach.
